Floods, heavy rain and violent storms — every year, people feel the full force of nature. The sad tally: 2.5 billion euros in damage annually and many desperate people. Climate change is amplifying the trend, and the sums keep rising year after year. But how well prepared are municipalities when it comes to heavy rain? Far too poorly, as recent events in Baden-Württemberg have shown …
Against this backdrop, the Stuttgart Regional Council (Regierungspräsidium Stuttgart) commissioned us to develop an interactive landing page that explains the complex topic of heavy rain risk management in simple terms and walks municipalities through the process step by step.
In close collaboration with VS Consulting Team and xxdesign, Pixelcloud created an innovative storytelling website that tells the path to better heavy rain risk management through the fictional character “Regina Stark”. At the same time, the website compiles all the relevant documents municipalities need to take the right course of action.
Best Practice Award 2020
Concept and execution met with great enthusiasm across the industry and were honoured with the “Best Practice Award 2020”. Buoyed by the success of REGINA STARK, the delighted client immediately commissioned us to develop yet another scrollytelling website.
