AMG AR Experience
For the new Mercedes-AMG showroom in Abu Dhabi, together with architects Gellink + Schwämmlein we conceived and built an innovative augmented reality experience for the iPad — letting customers experience what the building will look like before the first sod is turned.
A glimpse into the future
Mercedes’ premium brand AMG has a rapidly growing market in Abu Dhabi. To meet demand, a new showroom is to be built on Yas Island. To give potential customers a foretaste of the future building, an app was to open a window into the future. The twist: at a press event, users are taken directly to the site and experience a fusion of reality and future vision.
Reality meets vision
Where a simple tree stands today, the latest AMG models will soon race across a giant screen. With a sleek interface design based on the AMG style guide, users can move between locations or glide across the entire site in a 360° drone flight.
The overall project was led by architects Gellink + Schwämmlein; design and development of the app were handled by the pilots at Pixelcloud.
